Teachers from Freiburg and Leipzig visited their partners in Palestine |
Al Yamon School and Al Aroob School
|
From June 12th to June 17th a group of three teachers with the German coordinator went to Palestine to visit their partner schools. The school in Leipzig is linked to the Al Yamoon School near Jenin in the north part of the Westbank, the school in Freiburg to a school in a refugee camp Al Aroob near Hebron. With the help of the school project coordinator Najeh Abu Shamsiyeh in Palestine and the German coordinator Werner Scharpenberg, who was part of the German group, the visit turned out a real success.
The teachers were warmly welcomed in their respective schools, met teachers and head mistresses and discussed topics and schedules for future Mini projects. There was time to get to know each other and to reflect the previous Mini projects.
During their stay they also met the deputy minister of education and the director for international relations in the ministry of education (MEHE) in Ramallah as well as the director of the KfW Entwicklungsbank Dr Schlund.
The visit offered a great opportunity for the German teachers to get to know the situation of the people in Palestine, their hospitality and the beauty of the country.
