A German delegation concludes a visit to schools participating in the Twinning Program |
Haag conveyed the greetings of the German students and teachers participating in the project

The German Delegation representing the Palestinian/German Schools Twinning Program concluded its visits that took place over the last week, to a number of schools participating in the program in the different districts of the West Bank.

The visits were conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education under the auspices of the German Development Bank (KfW). The visit aimed at foreseeing the process of the twinning partnerships in eighteen Palestinian and Germany schools participate in the program, it also aimed to see the reality of education in Palestine.
During the delegation's visit to the Ministry of Education, the Minister's Deputy Assistant Basri Saleh highlighted that the Twinning of Schools Program goes along with the objectives of the Second Five-Year Plan of the Ministry, which is considered to improve the quality of education and quality of its main objectives and the involvement of Palestinian students in schools with partnership relations with Germany, and that this contributes to the development of the capacity of teachers and students, and in the professional and self development, it provides them with a window to communicate with the outside world.

Saleh considered that the benefit of The Twinning Program plays an important role in giving the participating schools the responsibility of being national embassies being a mirror of the nation abroad. He also praised the German government's role in supporting the education sector, especially in the fields of infrastructure and capacity-building, pointing out that all schools participating in the twinning project was built with funding from the German Development Bank (KfW).

On his part, the German Project Manager Wolfgang Haag and his accompanying delegation considered that the philosophy of the project contributes actively to expose the German main stream to the culture, reality and suffering of Palestinians, their reality and situation, especially with regard to the difficulties and daily challenges faced by the Palestinians teacher and student.
In this context, the Palestinian National Consultant Najeh Abu Shamsiyeh explained that this visit comes within the context of developing the German-Palestinian relations and to enhance the dimension of knowledge and cultural exchange between students from both countries in addition to the upgrading of the capacity of teachers, school administrations and students.
Haag also conveyed the greetings of the German students and teachers participating in the project to their fellow Palestinians and expressed their desire to stay connected with their Palestinian peers so as to enhance and contribute to the development of capacity and skills of participants from both sides.

Among the schools visited: Aroub Secondary Girls School Yasser Amro School in Hebron, Al-Jalazoun Secondary Girls School in Ramallah, Falamyeh basic Co-Ed School, Deir Sharaf Secondary Girls School and Othman Ibn Affan School in Nablus district, Al-Yamoon basic School, Al- Zababdeh Secondary Girls School and Aneen Secondary Girls school in the Governorate of Jenin.
