Berufskolleg Opladen in Leverkusen

Students from Al Jalazoon Secondary Girls School visited their partner school the Berufskolleg Opladen in Leverkusen in Germany for the first week of December 2008
Ten students, two teachers and one official from the Palestinian Ministry of Education were invited by Mrs. Sommer, the Minister of Education from the state North Rhine - Westphalia, to visit their partner school.
The purpose of the exchange was the improvement of multicultural understanding (to see the pros and cons of another society). The main focus was put on working together in a project with the topic of Christian / Muslim feast.
Besides sightseeing, they also visited the Parliament of North Rhine - Westphalia in Düssseldorf and met parliamentarians as well as Minister B. Sommer.
Additionally they went to the House of German History and had an appointment in the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development in Bonn.
All in all the entire week was exciting for the Palestinian and German students and strengthened the relationship and understanding for the next projects, by using the School Twinning Programme.
